Use a camera stabilization device as much as possible!! Be certain the camera is properly secured to the tripod/monopod base.
For starters, do not zoom.
Do not review your footage in the field…this will be done during post production.
Make sure your actors and subjects speak LOUDLY!
Pay attention to lighting. In most situations you want the lighting source behind the camera.
Be patient and careful with the cameras.
Incorporate the 5 different camera positions in your shoots.
The “Rule of Thirds” rules!!!
“Lights, camera, action!” Use this to cue your subjects…after the camera person says, “action,” the subject should wait 2 seconds before acting. Your actors NEED direction. Be sure to communicate what you'd like them to do prior to shooting your shot!
